SMEs urged to claim £2,000 Growth Vouchers

The £30m Growth Vouchers scheme is part of a government experiment to find out the impact of advice on small business growth. It was set up last January and is reaching the end of its run on 31st March 2015.

Growth Vouchers are worth up to £2,000 and must be match-funded by the small business. Only businesses that have fewer than 250 employees and a turnover less than £50m can apply. New national cross-media design studio franchise, Nettl.com has become an official partner of the scheme and is now listed on the small business network Enterprise Nation platform, Marketplace.

Peter Gunning, Chief Technology Officer at Nettl.com says, “It’s an exciting initiative and it’s fantastic that the Government is offering this to the small business community to help accelerate their growth. We are just concerned that quite a lot of businesses are still not aware of its existence. Qualifying businesses can redeem their vouchers with us here at Nettl on IT, digital and web consultation – but they need to be quick as the scheme is ending next month.“

How to claim

The government Growth Vouchers programme helps businesses get strategic business advice on making the most of digital technology, like ecommerce.

Some businesses will be randomly chosen to get a voucher of up to £2,000.

The voucher can pay for up to half of the cost of the advice from an accredited supplier, like Nettl. You or the supplier will claim this money back, depending on your agreement.

Eligibility

Your business must:

• have 249 employees or fewer (including any employees of companies that own a stake in your business)

• be registered in England

• actively sell goods or services

• be independent (ie no more than 25% is owned by other businesses or organisations)

• have a turnover of less than €50 million
