Managing subscription orders

When a subscription is ordered it will show up in WooCommerce > Subscriptions

Subscriptions show as Active when payments are fully upto date.
They move to On Hold if there’s been a payment failure until payments are made.

Subscriptions can be set up to link with website membership, meaning those on active subscriptions can have access to restricted content or products. If you need this to be set up please contact your local nettl studio to connect subscriptions to website membership.

Subscriptions can also be set up to allow either manual or automatic payments. Generally we’d recommend using Stripe to collect payments as this has great support for automatic payments, whereas the PayPal automatic payment process requires an extra subscription signed up to with PayPal and is not very user friendly.

The subscription payment renewal process can be found in this diagram

Where possible, we’ll try to take automatic payments. That’s possible when Stripe is set up.
If the stripe charge fails or if the customer is on manual payments, an email is sent to the client requesting they pay online.
